Pharmacology

PHARMACOLOGY

Pharmacology is a field of study that deals with pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and toxicological profile of drugs. It requires in-depth understanding of the anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and pharmacology of medications as well as the process of developing new drugs. Traditional literature, contemporary science and technologies are used to investigate the pharmacological action of herbal drugs or synthetic compounds. The department of pharmacology is involved in teaching students about various preclinical and clinical pharmacological topics using both theoretical and hands-on methods. The department is working towards the establishment of full-fledged and well-spaced animal house as per the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA) guidelines.
